Build it once
Divisions and a scoring board are set up once and reused every season. Year two is just a new tryout and a new roster.
Scored on phones
Assessors score from any phone browser — nothing to install. Each one sees only the divisions you assign them.
Scores are locked in
Once a board has finalized scores it locks, so a 4 out of 5 keeps meaning what it meant on the day.
Steps 1–5 are done by an administrator. If you're here to score, How to score a tryout is the one you need.

Seven steps- 1
Set up your divisions
Divisions are however you split players up — 8U through 18U, Freshman to Senior, JV and Varsity, or separate programs like Intramural. Start from a ready-made set and delete what you don't run.
The app takes its wording from what kind of divisions you use. A tryout made of school years says “Class” everywhere; one made of age bands says “Age Group”. You don't configure that — it follows the data.

Build the scoring board
A board is what gets scored: sections, and the modules inside them. Pick your sport, start from the template, then edit it — rename things, drag them into order, add or remove modules. Modules include 1–5 and 1–10 ratings, ±1 adjustments for hustle and attitude, timed events, measured distances, yes/no and free notes.
Once a board has finalized scores it locks. Editing it then creates version 2 rather than changing what was already scored — a 4 out of 5 has to keep meaning what it meant on the day. Colours stay editable either way.
- 3
Create the tryout
The tryout is the event— its dates, which board it's scored against, and which divisions take part. Create it, then use Set active when registration opens so new players have somewhere to go.
Running two on the same day — an AM and a PM session, or 10U and 12U — works: give each a tag so they can be told apart. Bib numbers are unique withina tryout, so next season starts at #1 again without touching last season's roster.
- 4
Add your coaches and assessors
Set each person's role, then assign them divisions. Assessors score the divisions you give them. Coaches see tallies for theirs, and can be given both if they score as well as coach.
This is the one worth double-checking. Someone with no division assigned sees an empty screen and usually assumes the app is broken. The Admin page flags anyone in that state.
- 5
Load the players
Import your signup sheet as a CSV, or add players one at a time. On the day, + Add walk-uphandles anyone who didn't register. Then Assign bib numbers to number the roster in one go.
The roster always shows one tryout at a time — the picker at the top says which. Importing checks for duplicates within thatevent only, so a returning player isn't flagged as a duplicate of their own past self.
- 6
Score on the day
Assessors open Tryouts, type a bib number or pick from the list, and score. Work saves as a draft as they go, so a lost signal or a closed tab loses nothing. Finalize submits it.
Position sections like Pitching and Catcher can be skipped for a player who isn't trying out for them — skipping stores nothing at all, so it never counts as a zero against them.
- 7
Read the results
Coaches and admins get the tally: a row per player, a column per section, and the Core Total they're ranked on. Tap any player for the full breakdown by assessor, or print the whole sheet.
Coaches see “Assessor 1, 2, 3”rather than names. That's deliberate — assessors score independently, and knowing who gave what invites second-guessing. Admins see names.
Between seasons
Don't clear anything. Create next year's tryout and set it active — last season keeps its roster, its scores and the board they were scored against, and bib numbers start again from #1. Players carry over as athletes, so you can compare a returning kid against their own previous year.
Purging is for when you genuinely want the data gone, and it is permanent.
