Questions

Frequently asked questions

What clubs ask before their first tryout. If yours isn't here, the guides go deeper.

Getting started

Is there anything to install?

No. Everyone works in a normal phone or laptop browser — evaluators included. There is no app store step to talk a volunteer through five minutes before a tryout starts.

How long does setup take?

About twenty minutes the first time: pick your divisions, start a scoring board from a template for your sport, then create the tryout. After that a new season is a new tryout and a new roster — everything else is already built. How to run a tryout walks the whole thing.

Which sports does it cover?

Baseball and softball, basketball, soccer, and both tackle and flag football ship as templates. The board builder is sport-agnostic though — if your sport isn't listed, build the board from scratch out of ratings, timed events, measurements and counts.

Can we run two tryouts on the same day?

Yes. Give each one a tag — an AM and a PM session, or 10U and 12U — and rosters, scoring and results all stay separate. Bib numbers are unique within a tryout, so next season starts at #1 again.

Can we import our signup list?

Import a CSV, or add players one at a time. On the day, + Add walk-uphandles anyone who didn't register. Duplicate checking runs within that tryout only, so a returning player isn't flagged against their own past self.

Scoring day

Do evaluators need their own accounts?

Yes — you invite them, and you assign each one the divisions they cover. That assignment is what they see when they sign in. Someone with no division assigned gets an empty screen, so the admin page flags anyone left in that state.

Can evaluators see each other's scores?

No, and that's deliberate. Independent scoring is the point of having more than one evaluator. Coaches see the breakdown as “Evaluator 1, 2, 3” rather than names; admins see names.

What if a player isn't trying out for a position?

Skip that section. Skipping stores nothing at all — it is not a row of zeros, so it can never drag their ranking down. A blank and a zero are genuinely different things here.

What happens if a phone loses signal?

Scores save as a draft as they're entered, so a closed tab or a dropped connection doesn't lose finished work. Signing back in offers the player they were on. Fields are small and save individually for exactly this reason.

Can a score be changed after it's finalized?

Yes. Re-open the player, change what's wrong, and finalize again — it goes back to a draft in between. Totals follow automatically.

When do rankings appear?

As scores are finalized. Coaches and admins get a row per player, a column per section and the total they're ranked on, which is why teams can be picked the same day rather than the following week.

Your data

Who can see our players?

Only people you have invited into your organization. Separation between organizations is enforced in the database itself, not just in the screens — a coach at another club cannot reach your roster even in principle.

What happens between seasons?

Don't clear anything. Create next year's tryout and set it active: last season keeps its roster, its scores and the board they were scored against, and players carry over so you can compare a returning kid against their own previous year.

Can we get our data out?

Yes — export results to CSV, or print the full score sheet. It's your data, and getting it out doesn't require asking us.

Do you sell or share data about our players?

No. These are minors' records. They are not sold, not shared with third parties and not used to advertise to anyone.

Billing

Is it really not per athlete?

Correct. One price, once a year, whether 80 or 280 players register — $99 for a single team, $249 for a club, $499 for a league. A club that would pay four figures a season elsewhere pays $249 here. See pricing.

Do we need a card to try it?

No. The free tier runs a real tryout for up to 20 players, with the full board builder — not a countdown timer, and not a demo with the useful parts removed. You build the thing you'd actually use.

Does the player limit count everyone, or just who makes a team?

Everyone you evaluate. That's the honest way to read it, and it's why the tiers are sized the way they are — a team with twelve spots might put fifty kids through a tryout, so Teamcovers 60. Players who tried out last season don't count against this season.

What if we outgrow our tier mid-season?

You'll be told as you approach the cap rather than after you've hit it — nobody should discover a limit halfway through a Saturday morning. Upgrade at any point; nothing you have already built or scored is affected by moving up.

Can we cancel?

Any time. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and your data stays exactly where it is — cancelling doesn't delete a season of evaluations.
